Anyone defending Thornton’s actions there is an idiot, and it’s impossible to say that enough. It is too bad that Thornton ruined his near perfect reputation in the league, but, again, he was the one who did it. I do, however, expect him to begin rebuilding his rep for his final years in the league, and he did start out well in his post game comments.
Of course, Pensblog had to do something asinine and embarrassing, making me loathe the Penguins… and it’s too bad that it’s really just a few fans that are making me feel that way about an entire city and fanbase. Rationally, I know that the assholes at the Pensblog are even less of a minority than the idiots who tweeted that Orpik deserved it, but it’s hard to separate my feelings about the Pittsburgh Penguins from my feelings about one of the worst websites in history. Read what happened at Barstool here below. (Note: From what I can tell, Barstool’s account is 100% correct, they’re not being way too biased or anything. No way that anyone claims that “The city of Boston officially cashed in the chips from everyone’s sympathy for the past 8 months” without making it about the marathon bombings, as they claim.)
